Self Drilling Screws – Hot Rolled Thick Material

Self Drilling Screws (Tek Screws) that are fine threaded for fixing steel cladding to material up to 12mm thick.

The Wingtek Heavy Section Self-Drilling Screws are available in phillips or torx drive a countersunk head with a wing between the cutting head and thread. The wing is designed to ream a clearance hole in the wood to prevent the thread engaging. The screw point drills into the steel, the wings break off as they hit the steel and the threads then engage in the steel, firmly fastening the wood to the steel in one simple reliable application.

Most commonly they used for timber to steel rails and purlins. Their external coating has been tested to 1000hrs salt spray testing.
